Whether you're greeting customers at our ReStore, creating buzz on social media, or helping us spread the word at local events, every volunteer plays a vital role in helping families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. OPEN VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

  1. PART TIME RESTORE FRONT ASSOCIATE

    Be the welcoming face of HFHTCI’s ReStore. As a ReStore Front Associate, you’ll greet customers with warmth, help them find treasures, ring up purchases, and schedule donation pickups over the phone. You’re not just selling furniture—you’re funding futures. Every sale helps build homes and hope in our community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Greet and assist shoppers

    • Operate the cash register

    • Answer phones and schedule donation pickups

    • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area

    Skills & Traits Needed:

    • Friendly and professional demeanor

    • Basic computer & register skills

    • Good communication and phone etiquette

    Time Commitment: 4–6 hours per week, flexible shifts available


    2. MEDIA CONTENT CREATOR

    Turn moments into movements. As our Media Content Creator, you’ll craft compelling visuals and messages that spotlight HFHTCI’s mission. From social media posts to newspaper ads, your creativity will drive awareness, attendance, and donations. You’ll be the storyteller behind the scenes, helping our impact shine online and in print.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design graphics and write captions for social media

    • Create flyers and newspaper ads

    • Capture photos/videos at events

    Skills & Traits Needed:

    • Creativity and design skills (Canva, Adobe, etc.)

    • Strong writing and visual storytelling

    • Familiarity with social media platforms

    Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per month, remote-friendly

    Training Provided: Brand guidelines, content calendar, sample templates

    3. COMMUNITY OUTREACH AMBASSADOR

    Bring the mission to the people. As a Community Outreach Ambassador, you’ll represent HFHTCI at local events, fairs, and festivals. You’ll staff our information booth, share our story, and connect with potential volunteers and supporters. You’re the voice of HFHTCI in the community—friendly, informed, and passionate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Staff information booths

    • Distribute flyers and answer questions

    • Collect contact info for follow-up

    Skills & Traits Needed:

    • Outgoing and personable

    • Comfortable speaking with strangers

    • Passion for community service

    Time Commitment: 2–4 events per month, typically weekends

    4. EVENT SETUP & DECOR SPECIALIST

    Create spaces that inspire. Help transform ordinary venues into vibrant, mission-driven spaces. As an Event Setup & Decor Volunteer, you’ll assist with signage, booth design, and decor for fundraisers and outreach events. Your eye for detail helps us make a lasting impression.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Set up signage, tables, and decor

    • Assist with teardown and cleanup

    • Ensure brand consistency in displays

    Skills & Traits Needed:

    • Attention to detail

    • Ability to lift and move items

    • Creative flair

    Time Commitment: As needed for events (2–6 hours per event)

    5. FUNDRAISING ASSISTANT

    Fuel the mission through generosity. As a Fundraising Assistant, you’ll help plan and execute events that raise vital funds for HFHTCI. From donor outreach to raffle coordination, your efforts will directly support our ability to serve families in need. You’ll turn community spirit into tangible support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Help organize raffles, auctions, and donor outreach

    • Track donations and assist with thank-you notes

    • Support logistics and setup

    6. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

    Keep the engine running smoothly. Behind every successful nonprofit is a well-organized team. As an Administrative Support Volunteer, you’ll assist with data entry, filing, and communications. Your attention to detail ensures our operations stay efficient and our volunteers feel supported.

    7. SITE BEAUTIFICATION LEADER

    Add the final touch to a new beginning. As a Site Beautification Volunteer, you’ll help landscape and beautify the exterior of completed homes. From planting flowers to laying mulch, you’ll create welcoming outdoor spaces that reflect the care and dignity HFHTCI brings to every build.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plant flowers and shrubs

    • Lay mulch and tidy yards

    • Assist with outdoor decor

    8. NEIGHBORHOOD LIASION

    Connect HFHTCI with every corner of the community. As a Neighborhood Liaison, you’ll build relationships with local residents, share updates, and gather feedback. You’ll help us understand community needs and ensure our programs are responsive and inclusive.

    9. SCHOOL & YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR

    Inspire the next generation of changemakers. Partner with schools and youth groups to bring HFHTCI’s mission into classrooms and clubs. As a Youth Program Coordinator, you’ll organize service days, presentations, and educational activities that spark lifelong civic engagement.

    10. FAITH & CIVIC GROUP LIASON

    Connect HFHTCI with churches and civic organizations to coordinate group service days and build partnerships grounded in shared values.

    11. VOLUNTEER RECRUITER

    Grow the movement, one person at a time. As a Volunteer Recruiter, you’ll attend events and engage with potential volunteers. You’ll be the first point of contact for many, helping them find their place in our mission and feel excited to contribute.

    12.APPLICATION & ONBOARDING ASSISTANT

    Make joining HFHTCI seamless. As an Onboarding Assistant, you’ll manage applications, send welcome emails, and schedule orientations. You’ll be the friendly guide who helps volunteers feel informed and appreciated from day one.

    15. RESTORE MAINTENANCE & GROUNDS VOLUNTEER

    Keep our mission space clean, safe, and welcoming. As a ReStore Maintenance & Grounds Volunteer, you’ll help organize donated items, tidy up shelves and storage areas, and assist with light outdoor tasks like grass cutting, weeding, and sweeping walkways. Your work ensures that our ReStore remains a pleasant and professional space for shoppers, donors, and staff—while supporting the heart of HFHTCI’s fundraising efforts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Organize donated items and tidy shelves

    • Sweep walkways and clean common areas

    • Assist with grass cutting, weeding, and outdoor maintenance

    • Help maintain a professional and pleasant shopping environment
