Home Depot Storm Damage Repairs Program
Habitat for Humanity Troup County Inc. is proud to offer the Home Depot Storm Damage Repairs Program for eligible homeowners in Georgia. If your home has experienced storm-related damage—such as from tornadoes or other severe weather events—within the past three years, you may qualify for limited repair assistance. This program provides support for essential exterior repairs, including roof restoration, window and door replacements, and repairs to exterior walls and porches.
To be eligible, applicants must reside in Harris, Heard, or Troup Counties and must provide proof of homeownership, sign a disclosure statement, provide proof of storm damage, and agree to comply with all grant and organizational policies. Please note that this program is specifically intended for homes affected by storm damage and is not available for general home repairs. The application deadline is December 2025.

State of alabama insurance departMENT strenghten alabama homes grant
Habitat for Humanity Troup County Inc., in partnership with the State of Alabama Insurance Department, is actively accepting applications for the Alabama Homes Grant, which provides up to $10,000 toward the installation of fortified roofs for eligible homeowners in Chambers, Clay, and Randolph Counties. This program is designed to assist legal homeowners whose properties are not mobile homes and have roofing needs due to age or weather-related damage.
To apply, homeowners must submit a completed application, a signed and notarized disclosure statement, and proof of income—either an IRS Form 1040 or a COLA letter from Social Security. If roof insurance is applicable, the first two pages of the current policy must be included, and after installation, proof of insurance for the new roof is required. Applications are currently being accepted for repairs scheduled in 2026 and 2027.
Once submitted, applications are placed on a waiting list and reviewed for eligibility. Selected applicants will be contacted by an evaluator to schedule roof assessments. If the roofing bid exceeds $10,000, the homeowner is responsible for the remaining balance and may negotiate a payment plan directly with the contractor. Habitat follows a professional contractor selection process, and applicants unable to cover additional costs will not be eligible to proceed. Due to limited slots available each quarter, only a select number of applicants will move forward at a time. Habitat will contact homeowners when their turn arrives—patience is appreciated as we work to serve each qualified applicant.
